I'm gaga over The Advertiser

The Advertiser arrives every Wednesday for free and I simple devour it.

Backup...beep-beep-beep...The Advertiser is a free weekly publication which, true to its name, advertises things around the small town area. People in Peoria do not get The Advertiser...just the teeny-tiny outlying towns.

Anyway, to be true, I have never, not once, found anything of real value in The Advertiser, but I adore it just the same.

It's just so darn quaint and cute. For instance, the American Legion is having a "rise and shine it's breakfast time" biscuits and gravy meal and the Princeville PTO is having their annual turkey noodle dinner.

For some reason, these events make me happy. Haven't attended them, but love to read about them.

Auctions, garage sales, a fish fry. Meatballs Eatery in Princeville has karaoke every Friday! I promise, when our weekends aren't so hectic, we are going to hit these events like nobody's business.

I've even got a plan: rise and shine breakfast first thing, then off to an auction or two, top it off with a turkey noodle dinner, end the evening with a healthy round or two of karaoke. Perfect.

Some day in the near future, I will rock these small town events.

  1. Whew! I thought I was the only one who got excited every Wednesday when that arrived. We get the Home Shopper, but it's the same as the Advertiser. I just love going through it, and reading the ads! We have gone to several of the town events, and fundraisers.

  2. I can't believe what I've been missing. Here I just throw the Advertiser in the recycling every week. I'm so bummed because of all the garage sales and auctions that I've missed!

What a perk to living the small town life!
